Spatio-Temporal Assessment of Primary Production in the Gulf of Guinea for Fisheries Management
COUNTRY
SECTOR
TYPE OF DATA
Ocean colour (chlorophyll-a), SST, modelled net primary production, nutrient and oxygen fields
COPERNICUS DATA
CMEMS reanalysis products for SST, chlorophyll-a, NPP and biogeochemical variables
SHORT SUMMARY
Long-term trends (1993–2020) in sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a concentration and net primary production (NPP) were analysed from Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) reanalysis and satellite products to identify hotspots and changing conditions in the Gulf of Guinea. This information supports adaptive fisheries management, helping authorities target survey efforts and forecast stock productivity. researchgate.net
