NAME/TITLE

Sentinel-1 PSInSAR Monitoring of Land Subsidence in the Port Area of Lagos, Nigeria

COUNTRY

SECTOR

TYPE OF DATA

SAR interferograms, persistent scatterer velocity maps

COPERNICUS DATA

Sentinel-1 IW dual-polarization (VV + VH) Level-1 SLC products

SHORT SUMMARY

Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) was applied to Sentinel-1 SAR time-series (IW mode, 20 m resolution) using SNAP + StaMPS to detect subsidence rates in Lagos’s main port expansion zones. Results showed localized subsidence between –1 mm/yr and –6 mm/yr, crucial for port authority flood-risk assessments and maintenance planning. mdpi.com
